you have an emergency or urgent building maintenance problem and need to report a repair,
please telephone our dedicated Maintenance Line on 0117 9167777. Alternatively if you have a non-urgent repair please complete a form to report a repair. Emergency out of hours repairs If you have an emergency which occurs outside of normal working hours and which cannot wait until the next working day, then please telephone our out of hours number on 0845 6095413, where you will be dealt with directly by our maintenance contractors, Emmdee Building Services Ltd (MD). What is an emergency repair? Our contractor will visit your property within 24 hours to make your home safe. Any of the following are treated as emergencies: - Serious water leak - a leak you cannot control with a rag or bowl - No heating (if between the months of October and April). We recognise that pensioners and vulnerable people will need special consideration in certain circumstances. - Blocked drain or sewerage overflow. - Damage that leaves your home insecure or in a dangerous state after a break-in or vandalism - Structural damage after a storm, flood or fire. - unsafe electrical sockets or fittings If you have any of the following emergencies, please contact the appropriate company first: - Gas leak or loss of supply Call National Grid Gas on 0800 111999 (Don't forget to check you have credit on your gas card if you have a prepayment meter). For more information on gas safety please see our draft Gas Safety Leaflet. - Total loss of electrical power Call Western Power Distribution on 0800 365 900 (Don't forget to check if you have credit on your electric key if you have a prepayment meter). - Loss of water supply Call Wessex Water on 0845 600 4 600. Forest of Dean residents need to call Severn Trent on 0800 783 4444. What is an urgent repair? Our contractor will visit your home and complete the repair within 5 days. Any of the following are treated as urgent repairs: - partial loss of electrical power or light - partial loss of water or gas supply - loss of partial loss of space or water heating - toilet blocked or not flushing. - blocked sink, bath or basin. - leak from water or heating pipe, tank or cistern. - leaking roof - insecure external window, door or lock. - loose or detached stair handrail - door entry phone not working - extractor fan not working in a kitchen or bathroom with no other venting. All other repairs are treated as non-urgent, routine repairs. In these cases, our contractor will visit your home and complete the repair within 20 days.
