The sun shone brilliantly upon the first ever Solon Fun Day in July. It was the best party in town. The Solon Fun Day was a blue-sky brilliant 'sun' day. This brought out the crowds and saw Solon residents and local people enjoying a party packed with music, dance, magic and more. The festival atmosphere and fun-filled activities created lots of excitement. It turned out to be one of the best days this summer. The happy faces say it all! Launched by residents as a new way to get to know one another and share our talents, the Fun Day was a huge success and a feast of entertainment and affordable attractions. Solon Residents also enjoyed some special extras - free food and great prizes in the Solon draw. None of this would have been possible without incredible support from the St Paul's community and many organisations across Bristol. Really, we can't thank every one enough. But we want to try anyway! Here is just a taste of a truly magical afternoon... Fun-tastic! Many people added their own talents to help make the Fun Day so special. Huge thanks go to Guy and Rachel with their crazy tricycle painting machine and their yummy ice creams, Kevin the stilt walker - spreading zany bubble fun wherever he wandered, Sultan Hu for the amazing workshops, Shelia for stunning face painting, Ellie from Scrapstore for crafty play that the kids adored, Matt Wood for his mind-blowing magic tricks, DJ Naomi, Bristol Fusion Dance for an inspired performance and our supreme MCs, Noel and Blackout. We hope to see you all soon! Community Spirit Many local businesses supported us with prizes and donations. Thanks to: NKS, Quadron, Cosies Wine Bar, Office Depot, Victoria Copiers, GWR Radio, Early Learning Centre, Pets at Home, Boots, Bristol Office Products, Superdrug, Homeswapper, Burger King, Build a Bear Workshop, Games Workshop, Stanfords Map Shop, Marriot Royal Hotel, Unicorn, TNT, Bristol Zoo, The Entertainer, Carter Construction and Tre-main Powell. Big Thanks
